figs
Although they have some essential nutrients, these are deemed high in FODMAP if more than two servings are consumed. Other fig products such as fig jam or dried fig may be higher in FODMAPs as they are higher in concentrated sugar.
artichoke
Artichokes have a range of nutritional benefits, but are considered high in FODMAP. This is due to the level of fructans found in artichokes. Fructans are a type of oligosaccharide that can be difficult for some individuals to digest.
sweets
Sweets are empty calories and therefore provide little to no nutritional value. Two of the main FODMAP groups found in sweets are monosaccharides such as fructose, and polyols such as sorbitol and mannitol. Sweeteners such as sorbitol may also be found in sweets, which also need to be avoided as they are high in polyols.
